Kate Thompson has been appointed to the role of Head of Press and Public Relations for Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, taking over responsibilities from Pietro Panarisi who recently took up the position of Head of Press and Public Relations for Skoda UK.
Kate
moves to Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles from the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand where she has worked for 16 years, most recently in the role of Press and PR manager.
Prior to joining the Volkswagen Group, she worked for Emap Automotive (now Bauer Media), gaining editorial and automotive experience on a number of fleet publications including Fleet Van.
In her new role, Kate will report directly to Carl zu Dohna, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
"I'm looking forward to welcoming Kate to our team. She joins at an exciting time with the launches of the new Caddy and Transporter fast approaching. Her knowledge and experience will be of great benefit to the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand," said Carl.
Kate will take up her new responsibilities within the next couple of months, and her successor at Volkswagen Passenger Cars will be announced in due course.
