Tata AutoComp GY Batteries launches VRLA range for two-wheelers in India

Tata AutoComp GY Batteries Pvt. Ltd. (TGY), a joint-venture between TATA AutoComp Systems Ltd. and GS Yuasa International, Japan inaugurated the manufacturing facility for VRLA batteries. The VRLA range of batteries from Tata Green Batteries are precision engineered
from premium grade raw materials and made in its state-of-the art manufacturing plant at Ranjangaon near Pune.

These batteries will be marketed under the brand name 'Tata Green Batteries - Velocity Plus' and will be available in 3AH, 3.5AH and 5AH, which are suitable for most two-wheeler brands of motorcycles and scooters. The Velocity Plus batteries are designed to give higher ignition power to ensure instant start in all weather conditions. The lead - calcium alloy ensures longer life of the batteries.

Toru Bomoto-san, Director, GS Yuasa, who flagged-off the first consignment of the Velocity Plus VRLA batteries added, "Our joint-venture with Tata AutoComp has grown over the years and I am very happy with the progress Tata Green Batteries has made.
