The drivers and crew of the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team have long indulged a passion for cycling. They have access to the best possible equipment after Swiss cycling apparel specialist Assos became an official team partner.
Assos will be supplying the Mercedes-AMG
DTM drivers with hi-tech cycling equipment from the start of the 2015 season onwards. Cycling is an important component in the training programme of the drivers and crew, as it plays a vital role in getting them mentally and physically fit for the challenges ahead.
"At Assos we are thrilled about this unique new partnership because the Mercedes-AMG DTM Team drivers truly embrace and live cycling. Continuing to expand our network with the best engineering and aerodynamic minds in the world, this collaboration enables us to explore new pathways that will complement our never-ending mission to improve and refine Assos products for the Assos user," said Erwin Groenendal, Assos Marketing & Design Director.
Ulrich Fritz, Team Principal, Mercedes-AMG DTM Team, added, "The DTM is a high-performance sporting environment. Competitors must always be in peak condition to cope with the pressures and demands of a race weekend. Cycling is an important component in the fitness programme for many drivers, and this is why we are delighted to have secured Assos as a new partner who will supply our Mercedes-AMG DTM drivers with first-class cycling equipment."
