Seat to hire 100 engineers this year

In 2015 Seat will hire 100 engineers. The announcement was made by Seat's Executive Committee Chairman Jurgen Stackmann during the presentation of results for 2014. The selection process of applicants will begin over the next few days and successful candidates
will join the company gradually over the next six months through to October 2015. This hiring of new employees will entail a 10 per cent increase in the current headcount of 900 persons at Seat's Technical Centre (CTS), reaching a total of 1,000 highly-qualified employees in the year of its 40th anniversary.

The 100 engineers will reinforce the projects currently under development at the CTS, especially in the areas electronics, bodywork and engine development for Seat and the Volkswagen Group. Prospective candidates must have higher engineering qualifications in any speciality as well as an excellent command of both English and German.

The CTS is the only design and development centre in Southern Europe, and makes Seat the number one industrial investor in R&D+I in Spain, with some 300-million euros earmarked for this purpose. The CTS facilities, located beside the Martorell production plant, act as a hub of innovation and make Seat the only full-range capacity automotive company in Spain. In 2014 the CTS developed more than 200 projects for both Seat and other Volkswagen Group brands.

These 100 engineers are to be added to the 800 employees taken on by Seat throughout last year because of the increase in production at the Martorell plant, mainly due to the success of the Leon family.
