Porsche Cars GB announced that James MacNaughton has been appointed Manager Motorsport. James, who is based at the UK headquarters of Porsche in Reading, Berkshire, joins the organisation from Goodwood where he managed the Goodwood Road Racing
Club successfully for the last ten years.
James is responsible for managing the Carrera Cup Great Britain and the link to the Mobil1 Porsche Supercup and the Works factory LMP1 and GT race teams in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). The Porsche Carrera Cup GB is the fastest single marque GT racing series in the UK, and has been a firm favourite with competitors and race fans for over a decade, supporting the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
James reports to Ragnar Schulte, General Manager Marketing, Porsche Cars GB.
"James is a highly skilled, experienced professional and we are pleased to welcome him to Porsche," said Ragnar. "Since the end of last season, we have worked hard on developing and implementing major changes for Carrera Cup GB for 2015, and are absolutely confident James will continue to lead Carrera Cup GB into a successful future. The first race of the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship takes place at Brands Hatch on April 4/5, 2015.
