Two quintessentially British icons, Barbour and Land Rover have announced their first clothing collaboration for Autumn Winter '14. This is the first time that the two brands have officially collaborated.
The partnership draws on both Barbour and Land
Rover's key strengths to deliver a range of clothing built on the shared foundations of capability, design, durability and reliability. The result is a range of men's and women's apparel collaboratively designed and developed by two great British brands forming: 'Barbour for Land Rover' collection.
Inspired by Land Rover's contemporary design, the two ranges are a modern interpretation of rural traditions. Country Lux inspired by the British countryside introduces a new tartan exclusively designed for this collaboration. It matches contemporary tailored shapes with traditional Barbour rugged construction and a touch of country inspired luxury. Traditional country detailing is married with technical modern touches and ergonomically-shaped fits for comfort. A lifestyle collection, the choice of jackets is complimented by quilts, gilets and a range of wax and wool knits, accessories and matching luggage. The women's wax and quilts are flatteringly cut with smart leather trims and knitwear is soft and luxurious.
Black Label is a totally practical range of clothing at home in the country or the city. Fitted and tailored, the range is designed for a modern savvy customer who demands the high standards of workmanship and finish from their clothing. Black Label is understated and stylish but totally practical and fit for purpose. The collection includes knitwear with an exclusive black gloss trim pack alongside the jackets.
"There is a strong synergy between Barbour and Land Rover - we are both established British brands, renowned for our understated style and synonymous with the British countryside. The unrivalled reputation of both our brands is founded upon a long history of listening to our customers and producing products of the highest quality that combine modern innovation with tradition and heritage. The new Barbour Land Rover clothing range is fit for purpose, practical and stylish and we are delighted and proud to be working in partnership with Land Rover," said Steve Buck, Managing Director, Barbour.
Robin Colgan, Land Rover Global Brand Director, said, "This partnership fits perfectly with the Land Rover brand; both marques are revered for their all-terrain and all-weather resilience allowing customers to go about their business whatever the conditions."
"Barbour for Land Rover will produce clothing which will draw from both brand's rich heritage and shared understanding of how style and functionality work together to culminate in products which are sophisticated, capable, durable and reliable."
The collections will be available from August 2014 and will be retailed through Barbour and Land Rover distribution channels worldwide.
