Yokohama Tire Mexico (YTMX), a subsidiary of Yokohama Tire Corporation (YTC), announced the hiring of Humberto Gomez as its new Director General responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company based in Queretaro, Mexico. The position was created
to meet the growing demand for consumer, commercial and off-the-road (OTR) tires in the country.
Gomez is a 30-year tire industry veteran who came out of retirement to join Yokohama, according to Gary Nash, President of YTMX. "We are very fortunate to have Humberto join our team in Mexico," said Nash. "He brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and experience, which will provide us with vital sales, distribution and business logistical advantages."
An Industrial Engineer from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Gomez also holds a Master's Degree in Engineering in Operations Research from the University of Toronto, Canada.
Gomez worked three decades for Bridgestone, spending much of that time in Mexico where he held several positions, including VP of the commercial division. He also worked for the company as president in several Latin countries, including Venezuela, Costa Rica and Brazil.
"I am happy to be part of the Yokohama team," added Gomez, "and look forward to further building Yokohama's stronghold in Mexico with increased brand recognition and sales."
