Volvo Car Corporation (Volvo Cars) has appointed Mikael Ohlsson to its Board of Directors effective October 1, 2013. Ohlsson is a former President and CEO of IKEA Group and takes over the position that was vacated last year by Hakan Samuelsson, currently
President and CEO of Volvo Car Group.
Mikael Ohlsson has worked for the IKEA Group for over 30 years and was a member of the group's executive management for almost 20 years. Between 2009 and 2013 he was President and CEO of IKEA's global operations. Mikael Ohlsson brings a deep knowledge of customer-focused retail operations and will therefore be an invaluable addition to the Board of Directors of Volvo Cars.
