Enjoying its best-ever single month sales performance, Kia ended September delivering a clutch of new records as it delivered 12,728 new cars to customers.
Showing a 9.65 per cent increase over September last year, Kia beat its previous best one-month performance
of 12,633 units in March of this year and reached a year-to-date figure of 58,307 - compared to 52,870 at the same time in 2012. That was a 10.22 per cent increase year on year.
The stylish Sportage SUV took the honours as Kia's most popular car in September with 3,356 units delivered to customers - beating its previous best one-month total of 3,312 - also set in March this year.
Kia's Approved Used car scheme also set a new one-month record of 857 cars in September and Dealer Fleet sales also reached new records for the month, the quarter and the year-to-date.
"Throughout 2013 our dealer network has been building on the momentum established over the last few years and now both they and we are really seeing the results of all that hard work," said Paul Philpott, President and Chief Executive of Kia Motors (UK) Limited.
"With one of the most modern ranges of cars in the market-place, our still unrivalled seven year warranty and sensible value customers are recognising the benefits of the Kia brand and September has shown just what potential we have for continued growth in the marketplace and to deliver profitable growth for our dealers," he added.
Sportage is also Kia's best-selling car for the year to date with sales totalling 16,468 followed again by the cee'd family at 11,611 and Picanto at 11,109.
