Since recruitment began in 2008 for its manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia (KMMG) has created more than 14,000 jobs.
KMMG currently employs more than 3,000 team members and like its counterpart in Zilina, Slovakia it operates
on a three shifts production schedule. Approximately 7,000 jobs have been created by Georgia based suppliers and an additional 4,000 positions have resulted from new plant start-ups and added shifts from suppliers in Alabama.
"KMMG's success since the start of production of in 2009 is truly remarkable, and the resulting localisation of suppliers in the region continues to gain momentum," said Randy Jackson, KMG's Vice-President of Human Resources and Administration. "Our team members have pride in every single vehicle built at KMMG. That commitment to quality and continuous improvement has resulted in a growing number of jobs and increased investment in the surrounding region and we look forward to even more jobs being created in the future."
