The 2,000 employees of the Maubeuge plant in northern France celebrated the production of the 5,000,000th vehicle built by the plant since its founding in 1969. The vehicle was a Kangoo Z.E. for La Poste (the French post office) in Forbach (France).
The Maubeuge plant is able to build a wide variety of vehicles. It currently produces seven models, from compact LCVs to passenger cars, and from ICE to electric vehicles (Kangoo Generation 2011, Kangoo Maxi, Kangoo Express Compact, Kangoo Express, Kangoo Express Maxi, Kangoo Z.E. and Kangoo Maxi Z.E.). In 2012, the plant started building the Mercedes Citan.
