How do you define the most advanced cars available? Some can be praised due to their hybrid engine technology and fuel efficiency, while others combine a wide range of different features to provide high-tech driving. From luxury models through to electric cars, it's
possible to identify some of the most innovative and advanced models currently being used today. At the same time, it's worth mentioning how car marques across the board are improving and delivering great value for money.

Tesla Model S
Electric cars are fast becoming a way for car manufacturers to integrate new technology into models. The 2012 Tesla Model S can claim to be one of the most advanced cars in the world, in this respect, with a built in 3G data connection linking up sat navs and maps, with drivers able to use a 17-inch touchscreen to navigate between apps. The electric drivetrain of the Tesla Model S also delivers a 300 mile range on a lithium-ion battery pack.

An Nvidia processor built into the Tesla Model S ensures that everything runs smoothly throughout the car, with drivers able to adjust controls to include regenerative braking and different accelerator pedal speeds. Other features include climate control and internet radio, while the car has an on-board hard drive fitted.

2013 Lexus GS 450h
One of the best examples of hybrid technology at work, the 2013 Lexus GS 450h represents a luxury car with a 3.5-litre V6 engine, and is capable of delivering 0-60 mph in just 5.6 seconds. The GS 450h hybrid also benefits from its combined electric motor ad petrol engine, while incorporating a wide range of different bonus feature; these include a Bluetooth phone connection, voice command, and 17 Mark Levinson audio speakers, as well as built in app suites.

2013 Ford Kuga
This advanced Ford contains 15 different sensors linking an on board computer. Special features for the car include adaptive cruise control and lane guidance, while Ford's SYNC program means that you can connect the Kuga's dash to emergency calls and other devices. The car itself comes with a 1.6-litre EcoBoost engine.

2013 Cadillac XTS Sedan
With a system that includes telematic technology for measuring your driving speed, the Cadillac XTS Sedan offers one of the most advanced driving experience you can find. The XTS includes a 12.3-inch digital dashboard, as well as a tachometer, and a Cadillac User Experience program that allows you to customise your car using Linux based software.

While some of these cars may be out of most people's price range, it's worth remembering that most new car marques now feature higher levels of tech and extra features than ever before. Notable examples of this trend include the Mini Cooper D, which features options for built in sat nav and performance balancing, as well as BMW's wide range of high tech features for its entry level cars.
