Renault Retail Group (RRG), Renault's wholly owned distribution network, has appointed Len Curran as Director, European Operations.
Len will take control of RRG's, Renault, Nissan and Dacia sites in Europe. The region covers 85 sites across 12 countries
(excluding France) selling over 100,000 new and 50,000 used cars with a turnover in excess of €2,700 m and a headcount of 3,700.
Len returned to the UK in January as Managing Director for RRG UK following a two-and-a-half year assignment in India where, as Vice-President, Sales & Marketing, he launched Renault's Indian operations. Len replaces Olivier Genereux who leaves the company to take up a new post.
Len, 53, has more than 30 years experience in the motor industry, both at dealer and corporate levels. Among his previous roles have been stints at Unipart and Fiat. He has built his career with Renault over the last 22 years starting as an Area manager in Scotland progressing to Regional Manager in the South East, Manager - Commercial Operations in Renault UK and from there took his first assignment with RRG as Southern Divisional Director in 2004. He then returned to Renault UK as Director - Commercial Operations prior to his Indian assignment.
The new Managing Director for Renault Retail Group in the UK will be announced later.
"I'm excited to be taking on this latest challenge within the Renault Group. The European climate has been challenging for our Industry and Renault has taken tough and courageous decisions in order to weather the effects the economies have had on the European car markets. Renault Retail Group has also worked on adapting the businesses to meet these challenges and I am very much looking forward to building on the excellent foundations laid by Olivier Genereux during his tenure," said Len.
