Rolls-Royce announces new House Charity and waves a fond farewell to Chestnut Tree House

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars confirmed that Southampton Hospital Paediatric Rheumatology Service is the company's new House Charity, as nominated and voted for by employees. The Rheumatology Service, part of the Southampton Hospital Charity,
focuses its care on children with arthritis and aims to become the largest regional centre caring for this disease in children.

Children can suffer with arthritis from a very young age, which can affect their development and lifestyle. The Paediatric Rheumatology Service ensures that the public is made aware of the disease, to ensure symptoms are not ignored and children get prompt treatment once the diagnosis is made. The Service also strives to provide outstanding care to these children which, without charitable support, would be impossible.

Southampton Hospital Paediatric Rheumatology Service takes the place of Chestnut Tree House, the Rolls-Royce House Charity nominated and voted for by employees in 2012. Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice for Sussex, caring for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses. Rolls Royce employees raised more than £20,000 for the charity through a variety of events and activities, with donations matched by the company. Support was given as voluntary work by Rolls-Royce craftspeople, including the creation of a Bespoke hand-made chestnut wood sign for the charity's entrance.
