Audi announced that Audi India race talent and class winner of the 24 hours of the Nurburgring, Aditya Patel, will compete in the ADAC GT Masters 2013 in Europe after a successful test at the Oschersleben track in Germany. Aditya will be representing the
reigning champions team MS Racing and will drive the highly successful Audi R8 LMS ultra which is also the 100th customer racing car ever produced by quattro GmbH. Aditya will be paired with last year's MS Racing driver Daniel Dobitsch.
"Racing in a GT3 championship is a step-up in Aditya's development from last year, when he became the first Indian to win the 24 hrs of Nurburgring in an Audi TTS. The ADAC GT Masters offers a high level of competitiveness and will equip Aditya with the right kind of experience to further his career. Team MS Racing with Aditya and the Audi R8 LMS ultra are a winning combination. At Audi India, we believe in nurturing young talent, and we hope to continue developing race talents like Aditya in future as well," said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.
The ADAC GT Masters is an amalgamation of 16 thrilling races over 8 race weekends and participation from various drivers from different parts of the world.
"I am very happy to continue my association with Audi India. After last year's success, it is great to race in a GT3 championship with a highly experienced team. The Audi R8 LMS ultra is a specimen of superlative automotive technology. It is powerful, has fantastic balance, is extremely stable around the corners and drives like none other on the track. I would like to thank Audi India and my sponsors for their trust in me and my fans for all their good wishes and support," said Aditya Patel.
"We are really happy to have Aditya in our team. The first test at Oschersleben with Aditya shows that he is a committed young driver with a lot of potential. We are looking forward to the coming season," said Harald Bottner, Team Principal, MS Racing.
