Hyundai Motor India sales up by 5.4 per cent in February

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) registered around 5.4 per cent growth in sales for the month of February 2013. The domestic sales accounted for 34,002 units compared to 36,805 units for the same month last year. Exports accounted for 20,663 units in February 2013 as
compared to 15,050 units for the same month last year.

"The market was suppressed as there was drop in enquiries with lower rates of conversions to purchase. The increase in fuel prices negatively impacted the already low market sentiments. We expect the challenge to continue in the next quarter until there is a significant change in macro-economic conditions," said Rakesh Srivastava, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, HMIL.
