G-Drive Racing's entry into the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has been revealed as the Official Nissan Partner entry for 2013. Operated by Delta-ADR, the team will run two Russian G-Drive branded Oreca LMP2 cars, powered by Nissan Nismo, in
the full WEC season, and at the world-famous Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Delta-ADR's credentials cannot be questioned. With numerous pole positions and race victories in the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship, the Silverstone-based team finished in the runner-up spot for the LMP2 trophy so they will be looking to go one better this year with the support of G-Drive and Nissan.
"We're delighted to welcome G-Drive fuel from Gazprom Neft to the Nissan racing family. Both companies have long-term goals for on-track success and are pushing hard to make sure the off-track activities live up to the performances we expect from G-Drive Racing this year. Our 'Powered by Nissan Nismo' programme is very important for us and we are pleased that it will be represented at the highest level by G-Drive Racing," said Nissan's Director of Global Motorsport Darren Cox.
Team Manager of Delta-ADR Simon Dowson said, "Although we had a strong first year it is important we move on another step and push for the Championship with two cars, there is strong opposition but we are confident with the support from G-Drive Racing and Nissan we can reach our targets."
The Nissan-Gazprom partnership extends beyond the FIA World Endurance Championship as G-Drive branding will also feature prominently on the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 raced by Russian GT Academy winner Mark Shulzhitskiy in the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2013, illustrating both company's commitment to nurturing young Russian racing talent.
The drivers who will join Roman Rusinov at G-Drive Racing will be confirmed in Moscow ahead of the first round of the championship at Silverstone.
