Nissan posts best ever fleet sales results; 5 per cent up in 2012

Nissan has posted its strongest ever fleet sales result, increasing sales of its cars and LCVs by 5 per cent in 2012. This increase in sales has also been reflected in an increase in total market share by 0.3 per cent to give Nissan a total fleet market share of 4.8 per cent.

Total car
fleet sales rose from 47,877 in 2011 to 50,990 in 2012, underpinned by a 114 per cent surge in Juke sales year on year to take the crossover vehicle up to 10,421 fleet units sold in 2012.

Qashqai continued to be a strong seller with fleet sales reaching 27,865 to make up 50 per cent of total Nissan car fleet sales. Elsewhere, the Leaf gained momentum in the corporate sector with sales rising 168 per cent year on year to 582 units.

Nissan also performed strongly in the LCV arena, with the NV200 posting fleet sales figures of 2,796 for 2012, a rise of 68 per cent on 2011.

"Given the current challenging economic climate, these results are an excellent achievement," explained Jon Pollock, Nissan's Corporate Sales Director.

"In 2012 Juke really came into its own while Qashqai remained a compelling proposition for fleets. Overall a strong performance that provides a platform for an even stronger 2013," he added.
