Volvo Cars of Canada headquarters open in Richmond Hill

After 40 years at 175 Gordon Baker Road, Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. headquarters have moved to a new office in Richmond Hill. Mayor David Barrow was on hand to officially welcome Volvo Canada President & CEO Marc Engelen to the central York Region, along with
a number of prominent local business people and councilors who were in attendance.

"We are happy that Volvo Canada has chosen Richmond Hill to locate their Head Office and wish them great success in their new home," said Mayor Dave Barrow. "Richmond Hill is proud to be the headquarters to many international corporate head offices and each contribute to the economy of our vibrant community, the Smart Place for Business."

The brand new facility was custom fabricated to epitomise Volvo's global Next Face program that is steadily being implemented in showrooms around the globe. Next face was developed to create a singular visual identity that expresses Volvo's rich Scandinavian heritage and strongly emphasizes its position as a leading premium automotive brand. The 7,500 sq ft facility integrates modern technology into offices and boardrooms along with a state-of-the-art training facility for technical specialists.

"We are excited to begin the next chapter in Volvo Canada's history," said Marc Engelen. "Our new workspace in Richmond Hill not only represents our global brand identity, but it will also accommodate our future growth plans."

Volvo Canada has already started forging relationships and putting down roots within this vibrant community. New recruits to the Richmond Hill Fire Department recently practiced valuable automotive extraction training exercises on a Volvo C70 that was generously donated to their program.
