Springside Motors in Irvine have been recognised globally by Kia Motors Corporation as the dealership in the UK that has the highest record of improvement of a Kia facility and operations standards in the Kia 'Act Smart' Campaign.
Springside was one of only 50 dealers
worldwide to receive this honour - representing 2.5 per cent of the entire global dealer network - currently 4,287 overseas dealerships.
Graham Irvine, Dealer Principal of Springside Motors was presented the award from Paul Philpott, President and CEO of Kia Motors UK Ltd. On being given the award Graham Irvine commented, "Here at Springside we are so proud of this award - to be presented it is a great recognition of the hard work and dedication from all the staff at Springside and it shows the level of service and commitment that our staff give to our customers and the dealership."
Springside Motors have received the award for a range of improvements across the dealership from enhancing their premises and operations as well as supporting and encouraging its staff through training, customer care as well as organisational improvements in processes, management and personnel.
"Springside Motors have made a huge step forward and this award is an important recognition by Kia - both nationally and globally - of that. The staff at Springside have shown a great level of passion and enthusiasm to the dealership and the Kia brand," said Paul Philpott.
The 'Act Smart' Award is in fact a Korean Turtle Ship 'Keobukseon' - the Turtle Ship was the very first armoured battleship in the world and is one of the most representative national icons of Korea. The Turtle Ship is well known to have been innovative, practical and technologically advanced for its time and this represents how the dealership has advanced and improved within a short time.
