The Ford Ranger has won 4x4 Magazine Pickup of the Year 2013, making it a record-breaking seventh award in 12 months for the vehicle.
The UK pickup market has grown by more than 25 per cent since 2009, with eight models currently competing in the segment. The
Ford Ranger has emerged victorious from a group of seven vehicles reviewed - the most comprehensive pickup test 4x4 Magazine has ever conducted.
"Ford's new Ranger has significantly raised the bar in the pickup market. Our extensive test showed the variety of products that are now on the UK market, and the Ranger topped them all with better overall ability, superb ride quality and an interior that makes it hard to believe this is a commercial vehicle. Indeed, no other pick-up came close in terms of interior comfort and specification," said Nigel Fryatt, 4x4 Magazine Editor.
Ford UK Managing Director, Mark Ovenden, said, "The awards keep on coming for the Ford Ranger as it continues to assert its presence in the market. Our customers have really welcomed the introduction of the all-new model, boosting sales by nearly 20 per cent compared with last year."
