New 2013 models will make their UK debut at Motorcycle Live (November 24-December 2), alongside Honda's current model line-up and a selection of Honda star riders and celebratory friends. The new-for-2013 Honda models have only recently been launched at the
International Motorcycle Show in Milan or the Intermot show in Cologne, so Motorcycle Live show visitors are the first in the UK to get close to the next offerings from Honda.
New models to be shown include:
> Three machines powered by an all-new 500 cc engine, which are suitable for the new A2 licensing regulations. As with the popular, existing NC700 range - which is also on show on the Honda stand - the three new 500 cc machines share the same engine and chassis, with alternative riding positions and bodywork setting them apart from each other… and the crowd. The CB500F is the naked offering whilst the CB500X provides adventure styling and enhanced weather protection for longer journeys. The CB500R is the more sports focused of the trio, with sharp, dynamic styling that echoes racing heritage.
> The mid-capacity NSS300 Forza scooter is Honda's next offering for those looking for machine that combines versatility, usability and efficiency with contemporary styling and advanced technology such as Honda's key fuel saving Idling Stop mechanism.
> For the sports-focussed rider, the next incarnation of Honda's all-conquering CBR600RR also makes its UK public debut. The machine that has re-written supersport history and has taken numerous championship titles at both world and domestic level, is refreshed and restyled for the next phase of mid-capacity sports bike domination.
> The beautiful and exquisitely engineered CB1100 offers a mix of classic and naked styling, combining thoroughly modern and engaging performance with a timeless design. The CB1100 is powered by an air-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine and now makes its long-awaited UK debut after quickly gaining a loyal fan base in both Japan and Australia.
> For newcomers to two-wheels, the NSC50R is a new 50 cc scooter designed to attract young riders to the world of motorcycling, with its combination of fuel economy, Honda build quality, stopping power provided by Honda's Combined Braking System, and aggressive looks. It once again continues the racing theme, offered in the Repsol colour scheme, styled on the Honda RC213V MotoGP machine.
In addition to the new models, to celebrate 20 years of the iconic Fireblade, a stunning, hand-picked selection of Fireblades both past and present - in road-going form and race trim will be on display. It will be a 20th birthday celebration to look out for and a fitting celebration for arguably the most popular supersports model of all time! Honda also looks forward to 2013 with the all-new CBR1000RR Fireblade Tricolour colour scheme.
The Honda stand continues to offer more! Star visits from some of Honda's top two-wheeled racers are planned throughout the show, including Honda World Superbike riders Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam and Honda TT Legends John McGuinness and Simon Andrews to name but a few. Other celebrity friends, including two-time Olympic Gold Medal cyclist, Ed Clancy will also pay a visit.
Also on show will be a range of exotic racing machinery in the race garage and original Honda merchandise and official clothing will be available to buy in the Honda store. Younger visitors to the stand can also experience what it's like to ride a bike with Honda's unique 'My First Licence'. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 years-old can take a supervised ride around a specially constructed street scene, and experience the fun of two wheels, whilst also learning about road safety and awareness. Riders will come away with their very own printed mock licence, to complement the new skills they have learned.
