The green shoots of another British automotive success are growing in Essex, with luxury interiors specialist, Carisma Auto Design, exploiting the previously undeveloped sector of discreet transport.
From its suitably understated premises, the company has built quietly on
a reputation for discreet, bespoke luxury interior conversions - for clients ranging from sporting superstars, to showbiz celebrities and seasoned business executives, who want the last word in refinement, but prefer not to make it obvious.
In the past six months, the company has taken orders from the UAE, Thailand and China, to bolster its European demand.
"We have rapidly become a 'go-to' service, for discreet luxury transport. This is not something a vehicle manufacturer would approach, but this year has shown us that there's a large number of people around the world, who want super luxury, but don't want to display it and we're meeting that need," said Clive Drake, Sales and Marketing Director of Carism.
Carisma Auto Design bases most of its conversions on already premium vehicles, including Mercedes Viano and G-Wagen, Volkswagen T5 and the Land Rover Defender.
While maintaining their standard exteriors, such vehicles can be transformed inside, with the finest grades of hand-stitched leather, to the latest multimedia mobile communications and high end audio, to create limousine luxury or hi-tech mobile office efficiency - even extending to solid crystal ash trays, handmade drawers for integrated fountain pen sets and custom seat embroidery.
"The limit really is the imagination. There hasn't been a request yet that we haven't met and we're planning to build on this, for future growth," concludes Drake.
