Tata Motors September sales at 75,773 vehicles, down by 4 per cent

Tata Motors' total sales (including exports) of Tata commercial and passenger vehicles in September 2012 were 75,773 vehicles, lower by 4 per cent, over September 2011. The company's domestic sales of  Tata commercial and passenger vehicles for September
2012 were 70,332 nos., lower by 3 per cent, over 72,566 nos., sold in September last year.

Cumulative sales (including exports) for the company for the fiscal are 409,898 nos., higher by 3 per cent, over 399,661 nos., sold last year.

Commercial vehicles
The company's sales of commercial vehicles in September 2012 in the domestic market were 48,680 nos., a 5 per cent growth, compared to 46,247 vehicles, sold in September last year. LCV sales were 33,393 nos., a growth of 19 per cent, compared to 28,092 vehicles sold in September last year. M&HCV sales stood at 15,287 nos., lower by 16 per cent, compared to 18,155 vehicles sold in September last year.

Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 251,507 nos., a growth of 3 per cent over last year. Cumulative LCV sales are 173,810 nos., a growth of 18 per cent over last year, while M&HCV sales stood at 77,697 nos., lower by 19 per cent, over last year.

Passenger vehicles
Sales of passenger vehicles for September 2012 are at 21,652 nos., lower by 18 per cent, over 26,319 nos., sold in September last year. Sales of the Tata Nano were 5,491 nos., higher by 87 per cent, compared to 2,936 nos., sold in September last year. The Indica range sales were 7,936 nos., lower by 23 per cent, over 10,282 nos., sold in September last year. The Indigo range recorded sales of 3,706 nos., lower by 52 per cent, over 7,793 nos., sold in September last year. The Sumo/Safari/Aria/ enture range sales were 4,519 nos., lower by 15 per cent, over 5,308 nos., sold in September last year. 

Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles were 130,642 nos., higher by 4 per cent, compared to 125,448 nos., sold till September last year. Cumulative sales of the Nano are at 39,623 nos., higher by 35 per cent, over 29,377 nos., sold till September last year. Cumulative sales of the Indica range are at 42,091 nos., higher by 2 per cent, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Indigo family are 23,875 nos., lower by 26 per cent, over last year. Cumulative sales of the Sumo/Safari/Aria/Venture range are 25,053 nos., higher by 11 per cent, over last year.

Exports
The company's sales from exports at 5,441 vehicles in September 2012 are lower by 12 per cent, compared to 6,217 vehicles, in September last year. The cumulative sales from exports for the fiscal are 27,749 nos., lower by 11 per cent, over 31,078 nos., sold in the same period last year.
