Renault India has announced a price hike for its top selling SUV– 'The Duster', ranging from Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 40,000 across India.
The Duster was launched with an introductory price of Rs. 7.19 lakh for its entry petrol variant. The new prices will be effective from
October 1, 2012. Duster has received an overwhelming response from the Indian customers clocking 20,000 bookings since launch.
The Duster is available in both petrol and diesel engine options with a choice of 8 trim level across the range and also different engine power options of 85 ps and 110 ps for the diesel variant. The Duster is the first product in this segment in the Indian market which combines the attributes of an SUV and that of a premium sedan packaged in to a great value for money proposition.
"We had launched the Duster with a very attractive introductory price and the response from the customers has been tremendous. We are very thankful to our early adopters who deposited trust in the Renault brand. The Duster is well on its way to become a benchmark product in its segment. To meet the demand for the Duster we have increased our production to 3 shifts in our Chennai factory as well as the outputs of our vendors. Facing an increase in raw material prices and instability in foreign exchange, factors which are beyond our control, we had to increase the retail price of Renault Duster. We have tried to keep the increase to a minimal level to ensure that our customers get the best value for money. With the new price the Duster remains one of its kind and a unique value proposition in the Indian market with its unmatched comfort, ride and handling, roominess, premium features and fuel efficiency," said Marc Nassif, MD, Renault India Pvt. Ltd.
The price for Duster Petrol variant will see a price increase by Rs. 30,000 whereas The Duster Diesel will see a prike hike by Rs. 40,000.
