Ford recognised at National Apprenticeship and Training Awards

Ford has been named one of the South East's best employers in the regional final of the National Apprenticeship Awards and National Training Awards 2012. Ford ex-apprentice Lauren Bradford was also 'highly commended' in the category 'Apprentice
Champion of the Year'.

Ford was 'highly commended' in the category of 'Macro Employer of the Year', for their commitment to developing their workforce and showcasing the benefits gained through apprenticeships, both in the Ford dealer network and in Ford engineering programmes. Lauren was recognised for being an ex-apprentice who has gone on to further significant achievements since completing her apprenticeship and for her efforts proactively championing the programme.

"Ford is delighted to be recognised at this regional final. Ford is committed to playing an important role in training and developing the future UK workforce, offering vocational career paths into engineering, manufacturing and dealerships, and providing jobs and career progression opportunities for existing employees. Lauren is a great example of the success of our Apprenticeship programme and she is a great credit to Ford," said Tessa Hougham, Ford Apprenticeship Manage.

After completing her Advanced Apprenticeship in Manufacturing at Ford, Lauren went on to graduate with a degree in Automotive Engineering and she is now working at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre in Essex as a programme engineer.

Vic Grimes, Divisional Area Director for London and South East from the National Apprenticeship Service, which organised the awards, said, "This year's awards were a terrific showcase of the outstanding wealth of talent that we have across Kent, Essex and East Sussex. Given the volume and high calibre of entries we received, I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate Ford and Lauren for their superb achievements."
