Volvo Trucks'
global deliveries up to and including June 2012 decreased by 4 per cent to 52,473
trucks compared to the same period last year.
Deliveries to Europe up to and including June 2012 amounted to 21,816 trucks - a decrease of 8 per cent compared to
the first six months of 2011. The demand on the European truck market varies significantly between different regions. In Southern Europe, demand continues to deteriorate and this now includes the French market. In Central and Northern Europe demand is roughly stable, while demand in Russia continues to grow. In Eastern Europe, deliveries for the first six months increased by 9 per cent to 7,368 trucks.

Deliveries to
North America amounted to 13,521 trucks for the first six months, up 27 per cent
compared to the corresponding period in 2011. The on-going need to replace the
aging commercial vehicle population continued to drive demand.
Deliveries to
South America amounted to 8,904 trucks for the first six months, down 25 per cent
compared to the corresponding period in 2011. The truck operation in Brazil
continued to be negatively impacted by the transition to new emissions
regulations on trucks produced as of January 1, 2012. The market
has also been impacted by the slowdown in the Brazilian economy.
In Asia, the
deliveries up to and including June decreased by 20 per cent to 5,182 trucks compared
to the same period last year.
