Honda owners and race fans visiting Brno in the Czech Republic for next week's (July 20-22) ninth round World Superbike championship races are being offered another fantastic opportunity to watch the Honda World Superbike Team at work – up close and personal.
For the third time this season, the team will be erecting a special pit display system in its Brno garage with clear panels on one side, offering a close view of the riders and technicians at work during the weekend's practice and qualifying sessions.
The system offers visitors an eye-level view of wheel changes, suspension adjustments and rider de-briefs. It's all a fascinating insight into the workings of a world championship motorcycle racing team.
To gain access to the Brno garage, Honda owners will need to show their vehicle registration certificate at the garage door. In return, they'll receive a team wristband to allow them into the garage, but paddock access must be arranged separately.
"We are accustomed to building a platform in our Assen garages to accommodate our guests, but this new system, which proved to be really popular at Imola and Monza, works really well and allows visitors to see what goes on from a mechanic's eye level," said Team manager, Ronald ten Kate.
Jonathan Rea, who rides for the team and took his first world championship victory at Brno in 2008, said, "Brno is one of my favourite circuits and it's fantastic for the fans to be able to get up close and see what we're doing over the weekend. I’m usually pretty focused on getting the bike ready for raceday, so I don't really notice any visitors, but I know they really enjoy it."
