This week, the Volkswagen Group is holding Welcome Days for some 500 new employees from all over the world, about 200 from Human Resources and around 300 from Sales and Marketing. The young employees joined Volkswagen during the past year and
will be finding out more about their vocational groups and the Volkswagen Group headquarters during the event. The participants will be welcomed by the Group Board Members for their respective vocational groups, Dr. Horst Neumann and Christian Klingler.
"We are greeting our new employees from Germany and the world with the Welcome Days. The event’s compact program deepens their knowledge and also fosters dialog and the commitment to our common goal to make Volkswagen the best automaker in the world," said Dr. Horst Neumann, Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft Board of Management Member for Human Resources.
Christian Klingler, Group Board Member for Sales, underscored, "We want to put together the best sales team in the world. The Welcome Days strengthen motivation and the emotional ties between our newcomers and the Volkswagen Group. The visit to Wolfsburg helps them to discover what makes Sales tick and to build up networks, because direct lines to headquarters and among colleagues facilitate swift information and decision-making processes."
The Welcome Days program for new employees from Sales and Marketing includes presentations by top experts on themes such as intercultural skills, product marketing, compliance and brands. Other top expert presentations for the international HR employees include contributions on top personnel work, personnel development and co-determination. The program also includes factory tours and visits to the Autostadt. The Welcome Days for HR employees take place at the AutoUni in Wolfsburg on June 25 and 26, 2012, the Welcome Days for Sales and Marketing employees are being held at the same venue from June 28-30, 2012.
