Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced that James Crichton (46) has been appointed as Regional Director, Europe and South Africa, based at the company's head office at Goodwood, West Sussex. In his previous role he was Regional Director, Middle
East, Africa and Latin America.
Prior to Rolls-Royce, James had many years of experience in BMW Group and has worked in a number of roles in the sales and marketing environment. He was previously Head of Dealer Development in the region Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa & Caribbean, having previously been General Manager Customer Relationship Management and National Sales Manager at BMW Group South Africa.
James and his team in the Middle East enjoyed significant success during his tenure, with the region playing an important role in securing the company’s most successful year in 2011 since it was founded 108 years ago. Three out of the top ten selling dealers were from the region and Bespoke enjoys the highest revenue per vehicle globally. This success was driven by demand for the Phantom Series I in its final year and the launch of the new Ghost Extended Wheelbase. Sales in the first three months of 2012 recorded a 30 per cent growth over the same period of the 2011 record year.
"I am delighted to welcome James to the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood," said Jolyon Nash, Director, Sales and Marketing. "With his broad experience and strong track record, I am confident that he is ideally suited to further develop our strong position in Europe and South Africa."
Geoffrey Briscoe has replaced James as Regional Director, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
