Nissan Americas announced that Travis Parman has been named Director, Corporate Communications, effective June 18. Most recently, Parman was Vice-President, Corporate Communications, PulteGroup, Inc., where he was responsible for
internal and external communications for the nation’s largest residential home builder.
In his new role, Parman will report to David Reuter, Vice-President, Corporate Communications, Nissan Americas, and will be responsible for aligning Nissan Americas’ corporate communications efforts throughout North, Central and South America. He will lead the teams responsible for all corporate communications activities including regional, manufacturing and policy communications, philanthropic efforts and crisis and strategic communications.

Parman, 39, brings more than 17 years of corporate communications experience to his new assignment. Prior to joining Nissan he held roles at PulteGroup, General Motors and Lockheed Martin.
Parman’s career began in 1995 when he joined Lockheed Martin as a Public Affairs representative. In 1996 he advanced to Employee and Executive Communications specialist and in 1998 joined the Internal Communications staff at General Motors’ Metal Fabricating Division in Indianapolis. Over the next 12 years Parman advanced through a series of assignments within General Motors, including roles in Internal Communications at the Vauxhall brand in the United Kingdom, within Product Communications at the Chevrolet division in Detroit and as GM’s Northeast region public relations manager based in New York.
In 2009 Parman was named Director, Community and Public Relations for GMAC, which later became Ally Financial, Inc. He joined PulteGroup, Inc. as Vice-President, Corporate Communications in early 2011.
A Greeneville, Tenn. native, Parman holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communications management from Syracuse University in New York. He is also an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and a trustee of the PRSA Foundation.
