McLaren Automotive, producer of the 12C high performance sports car, has appointed Mike Flewitt as Chief Operating Officer.
The position is a new and strategic addition to the executive team and comes as the company embarks on a new period of growth. Mike’s
role will encompass Operations, Purchasing and Logistics, Vehicle Programmes and Technical Development.
Previously, Mike was Vice-President, Manufacturing, Ford of Europe, and Corporate Officer, Ford Motor Company – positions that culminated nine years with the company. Before joining Ford, he held senior manufacturing and operations roles at TWR Group Limited, AutoNova AB and Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars Limited.
He qualified in Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering in 1987 and completed a post-graduate qualification in Management and Project Management at Salford University in 1996.
"I have watched the story of McLaren Automotive with admiration and now that I am part of it, the more I hear, the more impressed I am with what the team has achieved. I’m also excited to be joining at this very moment just as the company enters a new chapter," said Mike.
