Massimo Nordio appointed CEO of Volkswagen Group in Italy

Massimo Nordio (53) has been appointed CEO of Volkswagen Group Italia S.p.A., headquartered in Verona, effective July 1, 2012. To date, Nordio has been Volkswagen Brand Director in Italy. He succeeds Dr. Giuseppe Tartaglione, who is to assume a newly
created management function for Volkswagen.

Nordio, born in Chivasso in the Piedmont region of Italy, studied economics in Rome and has worked for the Volkswagen Group since 2009. Following various positions in the advertising industry and as Sales Manager of Ford in Italy, he joined Toyota Motor Italia in 2007. At Toyota, he was responsible for sales of the Toyota and Lexus brands in Italy as Vice President and Managing Director. In April 2008, he transferred to Toyota Motor Europe (Brussels), where he was Vice-President responsible for after-sales, parts logistics and customer support in Europe.
