Renault announces student winner of £9,000 towards tuition fees in Twizy design competition

As the buzz surrounding Twizy, arguably the most sensational-looking vehicle of 2012, continues to grow, Renault has just announced the winner of its student 'Design a Twizy' competition to tie in with the recent launch of its 100 per cent electric two-seater.

Rachel
Smith, 20, who studies advertising and media relations at The University of Huddersfield, won a public vote ahead of nine other shortlisted entries to scoop the grand prize of £9,000 to cover one years' tuition fees.

Rachel was presented with her cheque by Renault ambassador and solo long distance yachtswoman Dame Ellen MacArthur at the university's Business School where her winning rainbow inspired design was showcased on a Twizy to celebrate the occasion.

The online voting process was the culmination of Renault's 'Design a Twizy' competition which ran between January and March and captured the imagination of students from all over the UK with more than 16,000 votes cast over the 10-week period.
