Already renowned for supporting young and upcoming artists through the Young? Creative? Chevrolet? Pan-European applied arts competition, the continent's most exciting American car brand is about to unveil yet another surprise.
Renowned automotive artist
Ian Cook, who creates large images by driving remote control cars and tyres through paint, will be holding a workshop at the headquarters of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The event will be in Great Peter Street, in the Westminster area of London, on May 16-17.
As part of his long-standing association with Chevrolet – the brand that 'knew him before he was famous' - 29-year old Ian will be creating one of his most detailed images yet, capturing his trademark Chevrolet SpART art car, as well as holding open workshops on both days between 12.00 PM and 5.00 PM.
But the highlight of his residence at the SMMT HQ will come on the May 16, when Ian will unveil a world exclusive Chevrolet artwork at a special reception for his social media followers and invited media guests.
"I've come up with a new and completely different way of showcasing my automotive art," said Ian. "At this stage, I can't say any more than that, other than that the image I'm creating is related to Chevrolet, and will use techniques never before seen in my work."
"I'm delighted that Ian has chosen to work with Chevrolet on this project - his support for young artists is very much in keeping with our Young? Creative? Chevrolet? contest, and his latest venture is sure to show both Ian and Chevrolet in a completely new light…" added Mark Terry, Managing Director, Chevrolet UK.
