Ford showcases Evos at exclusive historic car show; Concept aims for ‘Concorso D’Eleganza’ Design Award

Ford is showcasing the Evos concept at the exclusive historic car show 'Concorso D’Eleganza', Lake Como, Italy.

The Ford Evos concept is in the running for the prestigious 'Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes'; the winner is chosen by visitors to the show.

“It’s a privilege to be invited to an event where the most beautiful cars from the past rub shoulders with most stunning visions for the future,” said Martin Smith, Executive Director, Design, Ford of Europe.

“Evos points to how future transportation could look and interact, although some of its DNA is already very much a part of our new vehicles,” he added.

The Concorso D’Eleganza was first held in 1929 and revived in 1995 following a break of almost fifty years.  The 'Design Award for Concept Cars and Prototypes' was introduced by the organisers in 2002 as 'a link between the glorious past and the future of the automobile'.

Evos is a dramatic four-door fastback design featuring spectacular gullwing-style doors. It introduced Ford’s new global design DNA to provide the company’s worldwide design teams with a common framework to guide the creation of new products and was first shown to the public at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Evos is the second Ford concept to be invited to the prestigious event at the Villa d’Este; it follows the 2007 appearance of the iosis X concept, which preceded the Kuga sports utility vehicle.
