Citroen lovingly sponsors Brighton Fringe 2012

For the second year running, Citroen is ‘lovingly sponsoring’ Brighton Fringe, as headline sponsor of the largest arts festival in England.

The fun-filled event, which takes place over three weeks in May (5-27), brings together both established and amateur
performers from a variety of genres including cabaret, comedy, dance, music and theatre. More than a simple sponsorship, Citroën is actively taking part in the festival with a mix of hosted events, live street shows and sales promotions.

Each Saturday and Sunday in May, local Citroen dealership Tates, will have a DS display at East Street Bastion on Brighton seafront with test drives available to book. On the first, third and fourth weekends in May, there will be a three car DS line display on New Road (within Fringe City). Members of the public will also be invited to make their mark on a white DS3, creating a ‘Brighton Fringe art car’.

On Sunday May 6, Citroen UK will be hosting a tea party on the Old Steine. There will be picnic blankets, tea and cakes as well as entertainers and face painters. On Saturday May 26, Citroen is presenting an international troupe of extreme pogo performers called The Pogo Dudes. Consisting of jumpers from the UK and USA, the performers use next-generation pogo sticks to jump over 8-feet in the air whilst executing flips and incredible stunts.

“Citroen are a terrific sponsor to have for the Fringe and we’re delighted to have them for the second year running. Rather than support from a distance, they bring their trademark creativity and sense of fun to the proceedings. We’re really looking forward to working with them for what should be the best Brighton Fringe yet,” said Julian Caddy, Managing Director of Brighton Fringe.

Linda Jackson, Citroen UK’s Managing Director, commented, “Brighton Fringe is such a rewarding event to be a part of and Citroën is proud to be associated with the 2012 event, which focuses so much on fun and creativity.”

Brighton Fringe runs from May 5-27, 2012 with 3,559 performers putting on 718 events across more than 200 venues over three weeks. More than one-million visitors are expected to Brighton in May.
