Volvo Car Corporation has announced that Duncan Forrester will become the new Director, Global Social Media within the Public Affairs department. Reporting directly to Olle Axelson, Senior Vice-President of Public Affairs, the new role will develop global
social media PR strategy and ensure that digital, online and social media PR activity closely aligns with Volvo's Global Marketing strategy.
He leaves his role as Head of Public Affairs, Events and Sponsorship in the UK on September 1, 2012 following the launch period of the new Volvo V40 having spent three and a half years with Volvo Car UK.
Nick Connor, Acting Managing Director of Volvo Car UK said, "In his relatively short time at Volvo Car UK, Duncan has presided over a number of high-profile and award-winning PR campaigns and launches. He's also developed Volvo Car UK's social media presence to the point where Volvo is now recognised as one of the industry's leading social brands. He brought this interest and experience in social media to Volvo just over three years ago and I'm really pleased that going forwards, our global organisation will be able to benefit from his expertise."
