Thomas Edig, Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board and Member of the Executive Board - Human Resources - of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, was officially appointed honorary consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Baden-Wurttemberg on
Wednesday. He was introduced to political and business representatives by the Norwegian ambassador Sven Erik Svedman at a festive reception in the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Porsche has been the seat of Norway’s consular representation in Stuttgart for the past 10 years.
Thomas Edig, who has been a Member of the sports car manufacturer’s Executive Board since 2006, described the appointment as 'a great honour'. Norway is considered a role model on account of its farsighted economic and environmental policy. In his address, he stressed that everyone benefited from a lively exchange at the political, economic and cultural level. He said he was looking forward to 'a good and trustful cooperation with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin'.
