Green Motion is the recognised Rent-a-Car leader in low CO2 emission rentals and in 2011 the company won the Energy Saving Trust Fleet Hero award. It currently operates in 18 UK locations, including Birmingham city centre and Birmingham International Airport.
The arrangement fits perfectly with Premier League side Aston Villa's Corporate Social Responsibility and environmental commitment, as renting with Green Motion will ensure a significant improvement in the carbon footprint of both the Club and their fans, both of whom will benefit from special rental rates in order to access Green Motion’s ultra-green rental fleet.
With such a huge fan base and significant corporate partner base at the Club, the deal will increase awareness of the Green Motion brand among thousands of potential customers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for both Green Motion and Aston Villa," said Paolo Lo Monaco, Group CEO and Green Motion Spokesman. “In fact, on top of the immediate rental opportunities, this relationship will offer the Green Motion brand major exposure into the Birmingham market thanks to the significant retail and corporate connections of the Aston Villa network.”
Aston Villa Chief Executive, Paul Faulkner said, “At Aston Villa we recognise that, as a large organisation, the Club has a significant effect on the local environment and we are therefore committed to minimising our environmental impact.”
“We have introduced a number of initiatives and alterations to improve the energy efficiency of the Club and our association with Green Motion is in keeping with our ethos on these issues.”
“We’re delighted to announce this agreement and we look forward to our relationship making a difference in the community.”
