Family-owned Consumer Tire celebrates 50 years in Business in Northeast Ohio

Consumer Tire Inc., a family-owned Northeast Ohio auto service provider and retailer of all major tyre brands, will celebrate 50 years in business this month with food, prizes and special discounts to thank valued customers.

Anniversary sale prices will extend from
March 25 through March 31 and will coincide with the official grand opening of a new Consumer Tire location at 216 Cherry Avenue in Chardon, Ohio. A dogs-and-brats cookout at the new facility will begin at 11.30 AM. March 30 and continue until 5.00 PM for customers and guests.

On March 31, festivities will continue at the company's flagship store at 8,443 Mentor Avenue in Mentor. A dogs-and-brats cookout begins there at 11.30 AM and continues until 2.30 PM, when a drawing takes place for Golden Opportunity prizes.

Customers and friends may visit stores now to register free for the drawing. Prizes include a 55-inch television, tickets to the Indy 500, Goodyear blimp rides and more.

"It's great to be celebrating 50 years with a major expansion, and we really want to thank our customers,'' said DD Coley, President of Consumer Tire and daughter of co-founder John Kantz. "For our company, however, the celebration is tempered by the difficult decision to close operations in the city of Euclid, where Consumer Tire began in 1962."

"When people call us for advice, they're calling a trained professional," said Coley, a member of the board of the Ohio Tire Dealers Association. "That's what keeps us in business."
