Skoda has scooped two honours at the annual awards presented by company car publication Fleet News.
Judges voted the Superb Estate number one in the ‘Best Estate Car’ category, the first time it’s taken the title.
The Superb saloon was also recognised, receiving a
Commended placing in the ‘Best Upper Medium Car’ class. In reality, this makes it three in a row for the model, as for the last two years Fleet News jurors have positioned it as the winner in the category.
Skoda also walked away with the ‘Most Improved Fleet Manufacturer of the Year’ title. Only introduced by the awards committee in 2010, the triumph means Skoda has won it two out of the three years it has been given.
Fleet News editor Stephen Briers commented on the double victory, “The Superb estate is a truly impressive load-lugger with class-leading carrying capacity. No rival can offer such breadth of abilities including comfort, quality, fuel economy and low running costs, and its attributes are being recognised by fleets in increasing numbers.”
“For a manufacturer to be taken seriously by fleet operators, it must have much more than a good line-up of suitable products. ŠKODA has improved the green credentials of its range, while initiatives introduced to commit to the service levels and support that fleet operators expect are already paying dividends,“ Stephen continued.
Martin Burke, Skoda UK’s Head of Fleet Sales, was delighted with the two honours, “That the Superb saloon and estate are still collecting awards in 2012 is testament to just what outstanding cars they are. To be receiving them for our work in the corporate sector, so crucial to our future plans, makes these awards all the more satisfying.”
