UK Winners announced in the 6th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest

With more than 1,200 entries received, there was no shortage of technical inspiration and colourful creativity from the UK youngsters taking part in the 6th Toyota Dream Car Art Contest. This year produced highly original ideas for machines that are cleaner,
safer and fun to drive, not least a car built entirely from sweets.

Environmental considerations were a clear priority, with futuristic Toyota models designed to run on animal waste, methane and water. The entries also came up with ingenious ways of beating traffic jams, with vehicles that hover, fly and double up as submarines.

Toyota held a prize-giving reception for the winners and their families at its Surrey HQ last week, hosted by Naoya Taniguchi, Chairman, and Jon Williams President and Managing Director. Five winners in three age groups all won iPod products and received certificates marking their achievement.

The UK contest is part of a global Toyota competition and the national winners have now been entered for a chance to visit Japan and take part in the world finals this summer.
