Total solution for Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding Ltd

When Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding Ltd was looking to replace two tractor units, the management took the decision to purchase Volvo FH-460 4x2s, not only because of the competitive pricing, but also the strength of the existing relationship
with the workshops of local dealer Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia in Ipswich.

The ability of the Ipswich Dealerpoint to offer a complete, competitively priced solution to their vehicle supply and maintenance requirements was key in persuading Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding Ltd to choose Volvo.

Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia, Ipswich were already servicing all makes of truck from the Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding Ltd fleet and had also retrofitted particulate filters to a number of non-Volvo Euro-3 vehicles to ensure compliance with the London Low Emission Zone in 2012.

Another factor which helped make the purchasing decision in Volvo’s favour, says Brinor International Shipping & Forwarding Ltd’s Transport Manager Gill Thomas, was the reliability of a pair of 2007 registered three-axle tractor units, which entered service with the company eighteen months ago.

“We looked at all options before we bought the two new FHs,” she says, ”Including buying used trucks, as the 2007 registered units have proved very reliable. The dealership is nearby and already maintains all makes from our fleet – coupled to which, the deal offered on the two new FHs was very good indeed. It also helps that the people at the Volvo dealership are good communicators and keep us informed when our trucks are in their workshops.”

The two new low-height FH-460s are equipped with I-Shift automated transmissions and ‘Globetrotter XL’ cabs. They will be used primarily on the Continent, operating at 40 tonnes GCW.
