Following the global preview of the Ford EcoSport by Ford President and Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally in New Delhi last month, Ford India continues its drive to go further in 2012 with strong January sales.
Despite an increasingly challenging
market, Ford India sold 10,789 wholesale and export units in January, demonstrating sustained and stable growth. Domestic wholesale figures were 9,137 units for January while export figures also remained high, with 1,652 vehicles exported during the month.
According to Michael Boneham, President and MD of Ford India, January's monthly sales and export figures are an indicator of Ford India's sustainable, long-term growth in India and continued reinforcement of the company's aggressive expansion plans in the subcontinent.
During the first week 2012, Ford's global CEO - Alan Mulally unveiled a global product here in India, reinforcing our long-term commitment here. "We’ve begun 2012 with solid January sales and export deliveries despite challenges in the market, and are further committed to bringing more of the high-quality, fuel-efficient, technology-laden, affordable vehicles to India from Ford's vast global product portfolio. We are thankful so many customers in India appreciate the value of the vehicles we are offering, and this year we continue to focus on improving our performance and service on behalf of our customers," he said.
