Vauxhall’s purpose-built Movano minibus provides comfortable, safe accommodation for 17 people, including the driver. It is fitted with inertia-reel safety belts tested to passenger car standards on all of the seats making it a safe option when moving people around in the community.
Donating the vehicle is part of Vauxhall’s regular community support work and Cherie Denton, Vauxhall’s Community Relations Officer, explains, “Transport is expensive for everyone and this donation will make it affordable for more people. CYCD has carried out exceptional work in the community. The minibus will be placed with them and they will have a booking system so that other charities in the county can benefit from this resource when it is not being used by CYCD.”
Delighted CYCD director Mir Juma says, “Vauxhall’s incredibly generous gift will make an enormous difference to us, transporting the very young, to the very elderly people, taking summer school and youth club youngsters on regular trips and generally providing a much-needed community resource. We can’t thank them enough.”
